Day at the “beach”

Today we decided to visit the Atlantic ocean side for the afternoon. When we were walking back from the bird sanctuary yesterday we saw a sign for this park…and new parks must always be explored!

This park has a dammed up area that creates a swimming hole free from boats and waves. The “beaches” in the Keys are more sludgy and muddy than sandy, so they don’t really seem beachy in a traditional sense, but that doesn’t hold the girls back. They spent many hours making sandy creations and had a wonderful time.
