Nice cruising family

28 Nov

Tonight we stayed at the only marina or anchorage in the area and met several nice boaters. We saw the powerboat Tug a Long again in Southport, where they had to be towed in due to engine issues. We wish them well in getting back underway.

We also met a very nice cruising family, the Nelsons, from Maine. Their bright red trimaran, Kachina, is hard to miss! Our girls ran around barefoot in the rain with the boys from Kachina until dark, enjoying the company of other children.

I could tell the girls were missing other children, as they stood on deck in the cold rain for about 30 minutes waiting for Kachina to find a spot to dock. After dinner, the Nelson family came over to visit and our kids geeked out playing Minecraft and watching silly videos. Kachina braved the outside to get down to Florida faster, but we hope to catch back up them sometime after the holidays.
