Happy Thanksgiving

23 Nov

We sailed across the Chesapeake to Tilghman’s Island where we rented a house for Thanksgiving. What are the girls most excited about? The OVEN! šŸ™‚ About a mile out our weather radio started screaming at us about a lovely storm cropping up…great! We decided to keep going, as we were in the storm no matter which way we went. Made for a little excitement in the crossing and docking (which took an hour), but we finally made it to shore and had a lovely time.

The award for best quote of the holiday weekend goes to Peyton. We followed our inward navigational track when we headed back out, but failed to take into account the rising tide. Tilghman’s Island is a shallow area and we ran aground…barely. As we sat there waiting for the inch of rising tide we needed, Peyton asked, “Mom, since we ran aground could you make me a sandwich?” Love it!
